Garden Cottage
We have recently completed the renovation of a traditional 18th century stone cottage – probably originally built as a dwelling for farm workers and ’wasted’ as a workshop/woodstore since the early 20th century. It consists of a spacious living room with kitchen, dining area, a wood burning stove and large patio doors, opening south, to a stone terrace and magnificent views over the Kenmare estuary. Turf and logs for the woodburner are included.
Off the entrance hall there is a twin/zip ‘n link double bedroom, a single bedroom and a shower room (adjacent to both) also a utility room with sink, washing machine and tumble drier. The stairs lead up to a twin bedroom with its own shower room – both are small but comfortable and full of character.
The ground floor has attractive ceramic tiles and underfloor heating throughout. The cottage also provides internet access.
Garden Cottage is proving to be a popular alternative to The Stables as an annex to The House when parties number between 10 and 14 or when there are more singles required – golfers etc.
Please note: Garden Cottage may not be available to rent on its own during the summer months until we are sure it will not be needed as an addition to Westcove House and/or The Stables.
It is also now available for 'weekend breaks', not usually bookable more than one month in advance. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any further queries.

Reviews:
From the time of our warm welcome to the last moments of dappled sunshine on the patio, we have had a wonderful stay in Garden Cottage. Our toddler had a great time in the surf and the adults enjoyed a thundering gallop along the sands at low tide (like a scene from a 'Discover Ireland' TV ad')
..... The cottage was lovely and we took full advantage of the outdoor areas and BBQ (we are Australian after all ...) R & MT, May 2010.
What a wonderful place you have here ... we enjoyed every minute ... the weather was perfect. We took lovely walks, went for drives, ate lovely food. We loved sitting on the patio, just listening to the birds and the sheep. We loved the beaches and wish we could have stayed longer. P & K N + daughter (Toronto, Canada)
A couple of dark Guinness and then count the white sheep - a very nice bed for a wonderful sleep.
Sometimes rain and very often we had sun - this is the right region to have some fun.
A beautiful cottage to stay - this vacation, there is no other way. J & T V (Germany) July 2010
.......we arrived the first day, the sea, the green, the flowers and trees were bathed in a magic glance.... Every day we went out for excursions and returned happy, full of impressions and with wind in our hair. The cosy Garden Cottage with its beautiful kitchen and lovely decorated rooms topped everything!! We felt so great and enjoyed every second of being here, especially in the mornings and evenings when the light became magic. the Irish people are lovely - friendly and helpful. In the Blind Piper - delicious food - and Freddies Bar we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the Guinness, Vincent's charming service and the concert with Irish music. A big thank you to Katherine who was so helpful .... we are sure to come back again. BM and CB (Switzerland) August 2010
