An attractive, grey stone building, originally stables and outhouses for the early 18th century Westcove House, which overlooks the Kenmare Estuary on the Southern Tip of the beautiful Ring of Kerry.

"The Stables" was converted in the 1960s and its facilities have been regularly updated over the years - The entire first floor, including games room, studio and all bedrooms and bathrooms have recently been completely refurbished. The Stables also provides internet access.

It sleeps up to eleven people and provides an ideal annexe to Westcove House, particularly useful for extended family re-unions, being very suitable for children.

It is also available for renting on its own, but not usually during high season. All upstairs bedrooms have a good sea view.

Ground Floor:

Laundry RoomNow approached from the outside with washing machine, tumble drier and heated drying area.

Sauna & Exercise AreaA joint facility also approachable from the outside, includes a sauna with "wet room" shower, a small exercise area with a crosstrainer and a loo.

First Floor:

Bedroom 3Small, with two single beds, one of which can slide under the other to make a comfortable single room.

The Studio Down a couple of steps from the bedroom area is a large north facing studio with a small snooker/pool table which can be folded away when space is needed by art groups. Complete with a sofa and armchairs, this also makes an ideal 'hideaway' for teenagers

Games RoomThe huge Games Room, leading off the Studio, is very well equipped with table tennis/football and other games. It also converts well into a small meeting/party room as it has 30 stacking chairs. Irish live music/dancing evenings can be arranged for special celebrations - very popular with all ages!

.The Games Room is also approachable from the outside and is a facility shared with Westcove House by mutual agreement in the unlikely event that they are let separately.

Outside:

The Stables has its own large lawn to the south (large enough to land a helicopter if required!), an ideal area on which the young, and young at heart, can let off steam.

There is also a patio, garden furniture and a barbeque. A selection of toys, books and outdoor and indoor games for all ages is available for tenants use.

Unforgettable honeymoon...

My wife and I had our honeymoon in the Stables, and brought 10 friends along. The accommodation was superb. The house is perfectly laid out - there is enough big space to have everybody together in one room, but there are also enough private spots if you want more quiet time. This I thought was ideal for a big group of old friends. The kitchen is well equipped, and the ready supply for turf for the fire was very welcome. The surrounding areas has some of the best hiking in Ireland, and the nearby beaches and pubs are the ideal place to relax. I can not recommend Westcove highly enough.

The Stables

"The Stables" is situated in the grounds of Westcove House, but it has the use of a large area of lawn to the south with a volleyball net, if required. There are swings and a slide for small children

A few steps down from the first floor is a large Studio, very well lit from the North, useful for art groups and as a teenage "hangout".A 6 foot snooker/pool table is set up in here but folds away when the room is required for other purposes.

The huge Games Room, leading off the Studio, is very well equipped with table tennis, table football and darts. It also converts well into a small meeting room as it has 30 stacking chairs.

Irish live music/dancing evenings can be arranged for special celebrations - very popular with all ages!

The Games Room and Studio are also approachable from the outside. These facilities are shared by mutual agreement with Westcove House when let separately.
